I-80 Wildlife Bridges
Connecting Habitats. Protecting Drivers.
Horrocks provided public engagement services for the Utah Department of Transportation’s (UDOT) I-80 Wildlife Crossing in Summit County. The goal was to improve driver and wildlife safety along a corridor known for frequent animal-vehicle collisions. Spanning six lanes of I-80, the project became Utah’s largest wildlife-only overpass and generated significant public and media interest as a unique transportation safety solution.
SERVICES PROVIDED:
Horrocks supported UDOT in communicating the purpose, benefits, and progress of this project through key message development, media relations, interagency coordination, video production, and social media content. During the environmental process, a public meeting was held to hear from the community and share information on the project. The team helped translate the project into an accessible story that demonstrated how transportation infrastructure can improve safety for both motorists and wildlife.
