Expanded Pipeline. Expanded Possibilities
Horrocks provided public engagement services throughout the design and construction of Jordan Valley Water Conservancy District’s (JVWCD) Southwest Aqueduct Reach 2 expansion. The project constructed a new 66-inch pipeline along 3200 West between approximately 11800 South and 13400 South to increase water capacity for the growing communities of Bluffdale, Herriman, Riverton, South Jordan, and West Jordan.
With the pipeline crossing multiple jurisdictions, affecting adjacent properties, and running parallel to the existing Jordan Aqueduct, Horrocks focused on coordinating with property owners, residents, local governments, and other stakeholders to communicate easement needs, construction activities, access changes, and other project impacts.
SERVICES PROVIDED:
Horrocks developed and implemented a public engagement strategy combining property owner outreach, local government coordination, public meetings, and construction communications. Services included individual stakeholder meetings, city council coordination, right-of-way support, preconstruction survey coordination, canvassing, and the management of the project website, hotline, and email.
During construction, Horrocks worked closely with JVWCD and the contractor to track schedules, traffic plans, and upcoming activities. Website updates, email notifications, door hangers, social media content, and targeted stakeholder communications kept impacted audiences informed as work advanced along the corridor.
